The Time Attack scene in Italy is pretty much non existent. All we have at the moment which comes anywhere close to this are normal track days with little bit of friendly competition.
Fellow JDM Club Italy members have been building a purpose built Time Attack car. As there are no Time Attack events, there gonna attend track days and try and set some records on various circuits. The car will also be eligible to take part in Hill Climb events.
It’s still a work in progress.
They started out with a 1996 Subaru Impreza WRX GC8 MY.
Here’s the clean slate.
A quick track test in stock form:
After that the car was completely disassembled to be worked on from the ground up:
They made a neat chassis jig to be able to work easily in hard to reach spots:
An OMP 6-Point Roll Cage was welded in and shock mounts reinforced. Extra braces and tubing was added:
The car is currently being prepped for paint, I’ll make future updates of their progress. Looking forward to seeing done and attacking the track!
Parts list so far:
Tein Front & Rear Strut Braces
OMP 6 Point Roll Cage
Subaru Group N Front A-arms
Alot more to come…
